Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information — both through our website and through the Android app.
By using Radyo PH (website or app), you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2c. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The Android app stores the following data on your device only:
- Your saved favorite stations – Offline-accessible favorites list
- Last-played station – Resuming playback; Android Auto display
- Login session token / user ID – Keeping you signed in
- Server base URL and settings – App configuration
- Theme preference – Remembering your display preference
This local data does not leave your device except as part of the features described in this policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Providing and operating the app and website
- Syncing your favorite stations between devices via your account
- Sending push notifications (news, alerts)
- Analyzing app usage to improve features
- Diagnosing crashes and technical issues (Crashlytics)
- Verifying app integrity (Play Integrity API)
- Processing station requests and error reports
- Responding to your inquiries
- Security, fraud, and abuse prevention
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Favorites Sync and User Accounts
When you are signed in to a Radyo PH account, your favorited stations are synced to our servers so they are available across devices and app reinstalls. This sync:
- Is triggered automatically each time you open the app (if you are logged in)
- Sends only your user ID and station identifiers — not audio content
- Can be stopped at any time by logging out of your account
If you were using the app before the account/sync feature existed and had locally-saved favorites, those favorites are migrated to the updated local database schema and remain on your device. They are pushed to the server only when you sign in.
5. Advertising
The Radyo PH Android app and website do not display advertisements as of press time.
6. Android Auto
When you connect your Android device to a vehicle's Android Auto system:
- The app provides station names, artwork, and now-playing metadata to the car's infotainment display.
- The app may acquire a Wi-Fi lock and monitor Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity to maintain a stable connection during your session.
- No additional personal data is transmitted to the vehicle or stored by the infotainment system beyond what is needed for playback display.
- Audio content is streamed directly from third-party radio servers; we do not record or store the audio.
7. Audio Streaming and ICY Metadata
Radyo PH connects to third-party radio stream servers to play live audio. During playback:
- Stream servers may log your IP address in their access logs. We do not control those servers.
- If a stream broadcasts ICY/Shoutcast metadata (song title, artist), the app reads and displays that text. This metadata is not stored or transmitted to our servers.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
On the website (radyoph.com): We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) and to remember your preferences. You may disable cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not function properly without them.
In the Android app: The app does not use browser cookies.
9. External Links and Third-Party Streams
The app and website contain links to and streams from third-party radio stations and external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites or stream servers.
10. Data Retention
- Account data (email, name, etc.) – Until you delete your account
- Favorited stations (server) – Until you remove them or delete your account
- Station submission / error report data – Until processed; then up to 1 year for audit purposes
Local on-device data (Room database, Shared Preferences) is retained until you uninstall the app or clear app data.
11. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including:
- Passwords stored using one-way hashing
- HTTPS encryption for all API communications
- Access controls on our servers
- Google Play Integrity API to verify that the app has not been tampered with
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children's Privacy
